Uzima relies on an understanding of its needs from its supporters.  Anyone who visits Uzima will also help our cause and here's why....

We ask everyone who is going to visit to do some fundraising for us (children are exempt) and visitors are our best ambassadors.
Everyone who travels with us gets 46kg worth of luggage space on the flight which we fill with goodies for the children such as uniform, footballs, school equipment and gifts.  In this way we have managed to get the whole school supplied with sweatshirts with their logo on and helped support their learning and sport at Uzima.
There are many jobs that need doing when we are at Uzima, such as weighing and measuring each child to identify those who need extra food/support.  We also measure their feet for shoes, take lots of photos and may help with Sport training or slower learners' lessons.
Lastly we have developed a bond with these children who, because of these visits feel truly cared for by those who are better off....As Christians we are fulfilling Jesus' promise when He said - 'I will not leave you as orphans...I will come to you'.
